At Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home, we understand that honoring your loved one with a funeral service can be a financial burden, especially in a time of loss and grief. That's why we offer a "Public Assistance" program, funded through the Illinois Department of Human Services, to help families with no means of funding.

Our funeral director will work with the Department of Human Services to determine if your loved one qualifies for this program and provide you with the necessary information and options. We'll handle all the necessary paperwork, including filing a contract that promises to pay if your loved one is denied or doesn't qualify for the program.

With the "Public Assistance" program, you'll have access to a range of services, including removal from the place of death, a memorial service at our funeral home, and a committal service at the cemetery. Our team will also provide you with a basic plastic temporary urn, a two-hour visitation, a register book package, and a temporary grave marker.

We strive to provide the exact quality of care and professional services to all families we serve. With “public assistance” services, the following are typically covered here at Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home by this program:

•Basic services of funeral director and staff- including removal from place of death (within 25 miles of Du Quoin), arrangements of the conference, and filing necessary legal paperwork

•Obituary posted on Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home website (maxtonrosado.com) and Facebook page for sharing

•Crematory Fee

•Coroner’s Permit to Cremate

•One Certified Death Certificate

•Basic Plastic Temporary Cremation Urn

•A two-hour visitation to be held prior to the service on the same day

•Memorial services held at the funeral home

•Basic Register Book Package (includes guest book, 100 folders, 25 thank you cards, and video tribute)

•Committal Service at Cemetery (includes transportation of cremains to the cemetery and licensed director)

•Temporary Grave Marker will be provided for the cemetery. A monument is not included.

There are things not covered by the Department of Human Services that families may choose to add. These items, if selected, must be paid in advance for funeral services.
