Wilson Porter, born 06/18/2005, passed away in his mom’s arms on 11/28/2022 at the age of 17 years old. Wilson enjoyed spending time with the family, playing fetch, and earning treats. Wilson grew up alongside his human sister and brother throughout their life from the age of 12 years old to 29 years old.
Wilson was a happy soul, feisty at times, a best friend, and always enjoyed the company of family and others. He will always be remembered for his funny way of entering a room and his ability to know when someone had food or snacks. His favorite places were in the tv room with family, in the kitchen while food was being made and in the bed of another family member.
I remember I called Indian Creek Kennel and drove over to Chester while the kids were in school. I remember picking Wilson up at Casey’s parking lot and they brought the other Westie dogs for me to pick from. Wilson was the feistiest one running around nipping and wanting to be picked up and taken home. I surprised the kids at the bus stop with Wilson waiting in the backseat after they got home from school.
I remember coming home from school in the 7th grade and seeing Wilson laying in the back seat of the car as my mom picked me from the bus stop. Wilson was full of Energy from the moment he got in the house. Wilson always had a smile on his face and loved to be in the kitchen while food was being prepared, hoping he could snag a morsel that dropped. I will always remember one thanksgiving, Wilson waited until everyone left the kitchen and jumped on the table to eat everyone’s thanksgiving leftovers. Wilson was feisty, mischievous at times and always had a plan.
Wilson grew up and was a part of my life from Junior high-school until the age of 29. I will never forget the great years he gave me and my family. We love you Wilson; “GET ‘EM”.
Wil, I remember the first day we brought you home, so little, nosey, and brave. You were just what our family needed. You would always be excited and would greet me when I came home. No matter how long I had been gone, you always made me feel missed. You’d Be right at the door with your paws up looking in the window. Always so sweet, yet stubborn. Buffy’s going to miss her big brother, we all will! 17 years you were a part of our lives. Home won’t be the same without you, but I know you will forever be watching over the house! Love you Willy Wil!
Wilson is survived by his canine sister Buffy and his canine nephew Kratos.
