Sherry Rose (Koonce) Stroud

Sherry Rose Stroud, age 68, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:45 am on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon.

Sherry was born on February 23, 1955, in Blue Island, Illinois, the daughter of William Wallace and Ruby (Furlow) Koonce. She married William "Bill" Dee Stroud in Du Quoin on July 4, 1973. Together, they shared almost 50 years of marriage. 

Sherry was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, always making time for everyone. She always provided support and love for her family, her greatest love. 

Survivors include her loving husband- William Dee "Bill" Stroud Sr. of Du Quoin

Daughter and Son-in-law- Sherry Dee and Paul "Skeeter" Stowers of Du Quoin

Daughter and Son-in-law- Ruby Jeanette and Shawn Cramner of Kokomo, Indiana

Brother- Brent and Margaret Koonce of Peru, Indiana

Brother- Billy Koonce of Du Quoin

Sister- Tara and Keith Pyron of Du Quoin

Sister- Nancy and Virgil Mathis of Du Quoin

Sister- Debbie and Frank Green of Du Quoin

Sister- Lisa and John Hill of Cutler

Brother- Keven Earnhart of Du Quoin

Nine Grandchildren

Several Nieces and Nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son- William Dee Stroud, Jr, and siblings- Kenny Earnhart and Tracey Koonce. 

As per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Sherry's wishes to spend eternity with her son who passed previously will be fulfilled as the family holds their own private celebration of life services. Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home in Du Quoin is assisting the family with her final arrangements.
