Rozella May Dickey, age 84, of Tamaroa, passed away peacefully at 2:25am on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Fairview Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Du Quoin.
Rozella was born in Christopher on February 26, 1938, the daughter of Kattie (White) and Jess Willard White. She married Ernest Leroy Dickey in Sesser on December 24, 1954, at the young age of 16. Together, they have shared more than 67 years of marriage and precious memories. Ernie recently passed away on April 27, 2023.
Mrs. Dickey lived her life as a loving homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Brother and Sister-in-law- Amon and Marilyn White of Metropolis
She was preceded in death by her parents, son- Robbie Dickey, brother- Jess White, Jr., and her grandson- Justin Dickey.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Ernie. Reverend Robert Morwell will officiate. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery.
The family would also like to announce a celebration of Ernie and Rozella’s lives will be held from 12-4pm on Friday, June 30, 2023, at the Dickey’s lakeside home, a place they treasured (3658 Kendale Acres Road in Tamaroa, IL 62888). Family and friends may gather directly at the home to join in food and fellowship. In honor of Ernie, the B.P.O.E. Lodge 884 will perform the Elks Funeral Ritual at the home celebration on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 12:00pm noon.
