Remington “Remi” Gunner Farthing, age 12.5, of Du Quoin, IL, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 4:45pm at Solid Rock Veterinary Clinic.
Remi was born on June 21, 2009. Remi was adopted in October 2009 by his mommy. Remi was a very loved emotional support therapy K9 for Five Star Industries in Du Quoin, where he made people smile daily. To know Remi was to love him, and so many people from a verity of locations in the United States did so. Remi loved being the center of attention, walking in parades with his mommy, snuggles on the couch, opening presents, sleeping on daddy’s feet at night, getting ice cream on Fridays with his mommy, helping her at her photography sessions, and singing the song of his people to his mommy and grandma Cindy.
Remi never met a person, or animal he didn’t like (aside from chinchillas). And he was sure to give you two paws up (or two ears back) as praise for any meals cooked.
Remington was a very loved member of “The Salty Beagle” beagle parent group on Facebook, and his parents appreciate their outpouring love.
Remi is survived by his parents Ryan and Shelby Farthing. Two human siblings Raiden and Raia, and two doggy siblings Colt and Wesson. His grandparents Jerry and Cindy Happold, and Raymond and Chris Farthing. And many aunts, uncles, friends, and family that loved him dearly.
Remi was proceeded in death by four of his best pals Molly, Pudge, Butchie, and Izzy. Who are sure to have met him across the Rainbow bridge.
Remington is going to be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him, but most by his family, and his mommy.
“A dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his.”
