Robert Clay "Bobby" Kemp, age 66, of Du Quoin, formerly of Davidson County, Tennessee, passed away at 5:28 pm on Friday, December 15, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon.
Robert was born in Davidson County, Tennessee on July 10, 1957, the son of Clay and Emma Lois (Robertson) Kemp. He married the love of his life, Marie Hampton in Davison County, Tennessee on October 10, 1987. Together, they have shared more than 36 years of marriage and have been together for more than 40 years building their life and creating cherished memories. Bobby and Marie moved to Du Quoin six years ago to be near family. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his loving wife- Marie Kemp of Du Quoin; daughter- Brandy Ann Arcibal; son- James Robert Kemp; grandchildren- Haley, Zachary, James, Alyssa, Kayla, Roel and Destiny; great-grandchildren- McKinley, Braxton, Bryson, Blake, and Mia Rose; three sisters- Vickie Baker, Melissa Gannon, and Wanda Kemp; brother- James Kemp; and his beloved dog and companion- Curtis Loew, who was the only dog he had the privilege to name and who is pictured in Bobby's obituary.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, daughter- Donna Michelle Smith, great-grandchild- CJ Smith, brother- Johnny Kemp, and two sisters- Pamela and Patricia Kemp.
As per Bobby's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no services will be held at this time. The family would like to thank everyone for their understanding during this difficult time.
