Lori Domineck Obituary

Lori Ann Domineck, age 61, of Zeigler, formerly of Royalton, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Herrin Hospital.

She was born Monday, September 21, 1964 in Du Quoin, Illinois, a daughter of Lawrence Domineck, Jr. and Joan Marie (Hopgood) Lasley.

Lori lived life on her own terms - straightforward, feisty, and full of heart. She was the kind of woman who would tell you exactly what was on her mind, because she cared too much to do it any other way. She did not take anything from anyone, but behind that grit was a caring and considerate soul who showed her love through action.

Lori found her peace outdoors. She loved to fish, pack a picnic, and spend time outside whenever she could. She enjoyed the simple things most - a good drive with the windows down, time around the dinner table with family, and keeping everything spotless because she was a cleaning fanatic. Being around family made her happiest, and she made sure everyone knew they were loved, even if she told you about it straight.

She enjoyed life without pretense and taught everyone around her to appreciate the little moments. Lori will be remembered for her honesty, her independence, her laugh, and the way she looked out for the people she loved.

She is survived by two sisters- Josie Flowers of Marion and Debbie (Earl) Samples of Zeigler; close longtime friend- Roger Smith of Christopher and his children and grandchildren; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family members she adored including her cherished nephew- Mike Williams of West Frankfort.

She is preceded in death by her parents, aunt- Donna Vancil, aunt- Rita Ranek, nephew- Joey Williams, and cousin- John Ranek.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2026, 11:00 AM at the Miners Cemetery in Royalton with Pastor Ron Davis officiating. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery.
