Kent Ray Stacey, age 58, of Du Quoin, passed away 12:31pm on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Kent was born in Du Quoin on July 27, 1964, the son of Glenna Marie (McClanahan) and the late Kenneth Wayne Stacey, Sr.
Mr. Stacey was clever with knowledge gained through all his life experiences. A contractor by trade, he was a hard worker. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his family and friends. He truly loved each of them-and if you knew him, you knew that. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love. He will be missed dearly.
Survivors include his mother- Glenna Marie Harrison of Du Quoin; Son and daughter-in-law- Dillan and Christina Stacey of Du Quoin; Daughter- Chelsea Stacey and fiancé River Daniels of Du Quoin; raised like a son- Craig (Rachel) Stacey; Five Grandchildren- Brayden Stacey, Abigail Pribble, Liam Stacey, Laben Stacey, and Kacesyn Stanley; siblings- Kevin (Carol) Stacey, Karen (Bruce) Humphreys, Kelly Stacey, Melissa (Gene) Gilliam, Marcella (Les) Robinson, Julie (Chad) Griffin, Kevin (Denise) Harrison, David (Chris) Harrison, and Donny Harrison.
He was preceded in death by his father, step-father- Roger Harrison, brother- Kenneth Wayne Stacey, Jr., and sister- Kristina Lynn Stacey.
It’s only fitting to celebrate Kent’s 59th birthday with him, giving him the homegoing celebration he deserves, as he celebrates his first birthday in Heaven. Family and friends are encouraged to attend a time of visitation from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home; 11 S. Hickory Street; Du Quoin, IL 62832. Celebration of life services will follow at 7:00pm. Brother Joe Wagner will officiate.
