Kenneth Minnick Obituary

Kenneth A. Minnick, age 80, of Du Quoin, passed away at 3:40am on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Du Quoin.

Kenneth was born in Joliet on October 13, 1940, the son of John and Helen (Troutman) Minnick. He married Helen Eileen Longshore in Joliet on April 1, 1961. She preceded him in death on December 14, 2007.

Mr. Minnick had proudly served his country in the United States Army. Prior to his retirement, Ken had worked as a bidding subcontractor, specializing in painting and roofing. 

Survivors include-

Son- Kenneth E. and Diane Minnick of Du Quoin

Son- Michael Minnick of Texas

Son- Richard and Robin Minnick of Tennessee

Grandson and Caregiver- Trenton Duran of Du Quoin

Grandchildren- Maggie, Heidi, Hannah, Richard, Nicole, Kendra, & Sarah

Several Great Grandchildren

Brother- John and Terry Minnick

Brother- Calvin Minnick

Brother- Roy and Nancy Minnick

Sister- Judy and Ronald Fowler

Sister- Debbie and Michael Buske

Sister- Denise Johnson

Many Nieces and Nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister- Jackie Lehner, and two brothers- Glenn and Robert Minnick.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Old Du Quoin Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Du Quoin VFW and American Legion Posts with assistance from the United States Army National Guard Funeral Honors Detail Team. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery. Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home (11 South Hickory Street) in Du Quoin is assisting the family with final arrangements.
