Obituary

Karen Lee Durfee, age 67, of Marion, passed away at 3:25 PM on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Manor Court Nursing Home in Carbondale accompanied by her son, Kevin and his loving partner Becca Bradley

Karen was born in Dekalb, Illinois on June 12, 1955.  She had worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Marion until her diagnosis of dementia.


She is survived by one son - Kevin C Durfee, but will be remembered by a large community of friends and family that stood by her in her toughest of times.

Karen was preceded in death by her mother - Georgia McCain, father - Charles Davis, and brother - Ricky Davis, as well as her longtime friends Lisa Uzzle and Jean Travelstead.

As per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.  Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held on January 7th, 2023 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church at 2 PM.  Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home in Du Quoin is assisting the family with final arrangements.
