Johnny Aaron Johnston, age 71, of Du Quoin, passed away at 5:35am on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
Johnny was born in Henderson, Kentucky on July 17, 1951, the son of Betty Ann (Evans) and Rev. Leslie Don Johnston. He married Sherry Lynn (Lipe) on May 11, 1987 in Paducah, Kentucky. She preceded him in death on May 30, 2010.
Prior to his retirement, Johnny was a painter by trade. He was an avid Florida Gator fan who loved and cherished his family and time spent with them.

Brother- Tim and Patti Johnston of Spring Arbor, MI
Sister- Candy and Rev. Kirk Steele of Du Quoin

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother- Ronnie Johnston, one grandson- Aaron Gene Oliver and son-in-law- James Shurman.
Celebration of life services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at the Tamaroa Independent Pentecostal Church (39 Vine Street in Tamaroa). A time of visitation will be held from 12pm until 2pm at the church. A funeral luncheon will be provided by the church following services.
Inurnment will take place at Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville June 10, 2023, where he will be laid to rest next to his wife.
