Obituary
Mary Jean Brewer, age 98, of Du Quoin, went to her Lord at 6:25am on Sunday, February 6, 2022. She passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Jean was born on June 11, 1923 in Bedford, Indiana, the daughter of Orval and Ruth (Walton) Swango. She married Kenneth Eugene Brewer in Indiana in 1940. He preceded her in death on August 6, 1987. She leaves behind two daughters- Ann Heaton and her husband Mike and Judy Stroyeck and her husband Mike, five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren who think the world of her!
Jean was a faithful member of the Du Quoin Church of Christ. She also was a big fan of “Swamp People” and alligators. In her spare time, she enjoyed yard sales and her cherished friendships that went with them. Jean has left a big hole in many hearts.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of remembrance and celebration of Jean’s life. The visitation will be held from 2-4pm on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home; 11 S. Hickory Street; Du Quoin, IL 62832. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Old Du Quoin Cemetery.
