James "Jim" Leroy Loucks, of Chester, passed away at 3:15am on Friday, September 1, 2023 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon. He was 70 years old.
James was born on January 29, 1953 in Cutler, a son of Joseph Marshall and Dorothy Mae (Shaw) Loucks. A jack-of-all trades, Jim had worked as an electrician, carpenter, and in the factories. He had a love of fishing from a young age. He loved his family, and his greatest joy came from seeing laughter in the children. He will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
Survivors include his son- James Loucks, Jr of Coulterville; son- Steven Loucks of Coulterville; daughter- Angel (Anthony) Crane of Anna; Anthony Loucks, Jr and many other grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother- William (Danita) Loucks of Chester; brother- Lyle Dean Loucks of Coulterville.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, son- Anthony Loucks, Sr, infant twin sons- Lonnie and Donnie Loucks, brothers- Harry "Duke" Neville, Joe Loucks Jr, Donald "Duck" Loucks, Clarence "Tex" Loucks, and Gerald Loucks, and a sister- Brenda Neville-Rice.
To honor Jim's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 3:00pm-6:00pm at Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home; 11 S. Hickory Street; Du Quoin, IL 62832. Celebration of life services will begin at 6:00pm on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
It's only fitting, based on Jim's love for children, memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home; 11 S Hickory Street; Du Quoin, IL 62832.
