Duke Higgerson

Duke Higgerson crossed the rainbow bridge Thursday March 23, 2023 peacefully in
the arms of his dad and with mom at his side. Duke was born on June 3, 2017
with many brothers and sisters. He is survived by his mom Beth, dad Will, Brother
James, and two sisters Mallory and Brooke.

Duke’s favorite activities were playing with dad, fetching sticks and Frisbee’s,
taking his sister Mallory’s softballs while she and dad were practicing, but most of
all Duke enjoyed playing and squeezing his squeaker bones. Duke loved
everything life had to offer except chicken’s (he hated chicken’s). Duke loved
going for long rides in dad’s truck and the side by side, Ice cream sundaes, and
when his big brother James came home to visit from college.

More than anything Duke loved his mom and dad. He was always there to
greet them. When mom or dad would pull up in drive way, Duke would be
starring out the window between the blinds looking like Bateman. Once mom and
dad approached the front door he would greet them with kisses and a big hug for
dad. Duke and grandma were great companions, Duke was always by her side
when she needed him the most, they took care of each other. Duke was good at a
lot of things but he was the best at unconditional love. He taught everyone he
came in contact with about loving people.

Duke had a hard fought battle with lymphoma, after 3 months of bravery. Duke
spent his last days playing with his favorite toys, having all the snacks he could
imagine and being surrounded by all his loved ones. What Duke leaves behind is
his fierce love which never wavered, he will be forever missed and forever
remembered as the best friend any human could have.
