Christopher was born in Du Quoin on November 15, 1977, the son of Terry Douglas and Lorna June (Metheny) McClanahan, the youngest of five boys. Christopher was a joy to be around, bringing smiles and laughter wherever he went. A life cut too short, but a loving heart that leaves a beacon of light for his son, brothers, and many friends.

Christopher is survived by his son- Gage Mikel McClanahan of Carterville; four brothers- Terry P. (Paula) McClanahan of Du Quoin, Jesse J. McClanahan of Elkville, Bradley A. (Teresa) McClanahan of Elkville, and Brian D. (Wendy) McClanahan of Elkville. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and his beloved dog.

As per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded, and a private burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin at a later date, where he will be laid to rest next to his parents who preceded him in death.
