Beverly Kay (Killian) McClinton

Beverly Kay McClinton, age 74, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:51pm on Friday, July 29, 2022, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.

Beverly was born in Du Quoin on April 15, 1948, the daughter of Hudson Nathaniel and Loretta Mae (Woods) Killian. She married Tom E. McClinton. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2013. Together, they had shared forty-six years of marriage.

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. McClinton had worked at General Mills in West Chicago for more than thirty-five years. She had a very strong faith in the Lord, which she passed on to others in the way she lived her life. Never meeting a stranger, Beverly loved life and loved everyone. She was the glue that held the family together and the rock that the entire family leaned on. She took in anyone that needed help, teaching her family her faith in leading by example. Beverly loved her dogs- Bella and Peanut. She was a great cook- her lasagna and roast will never be duplicated. More than anything, Beverly loved being a Grandma. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son- Thomas (Tracy) McClinton of Aurora

Five Grandchildren- Kyanna and Tommy McClinton III

     Buddy, Cheyanne, and Nicholas Johnson

Two Great Grandchildren- Myles and Rainah

Three Brothers- Garland (Gail) Killian of Makanda

     Armond (Debbie) Killian of Du Quoin

     Wendell (Lisa) Killian of Du Quoin

Two sisters- Sherri Clark of Du Quoin

     Chanell (Ray) Killian of Du Quoin

Beloved Dogs- Bella and Peanut

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, infant daughter- Tyra Jeanice McClinton, and two brothers- Gerald and Shawn Killian.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of remembrance in Beverly's honor, to be filled with stories, memories, love, and laughter. A time of visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home; 11 S. Hickory Street; Du Quoin, IL 62832. A remembrance service, where family and friends are encouraged to speak and share fond memories and words of encouragement, will begin at 7pm on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home.
