Beverly Marie Hoffman, age 75, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:33pm on Monday, November 23, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon due to complications of the Covid-19 Coronavirus.
Beverly was born in Chicago on March 31, 1945, the daughter of Adeline Szczeblewski. She married Clarence “Boots” Hoffman in Tamaroa on April 4, 1964. Together, they shared fifty-three years of marriage.
Mrs. Hoffman was of Catholic faith. She had worked as a seamstress and at various retail stores in the area, doing whatever had to be done to raise and provide for her family, fulfilling the most important job in her life as “mom”. Her children and grandchildren were her proudest accomplishments and what she lived for. She will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Son- Don Hoffman of Du Quoin
Son and Daughter-in-law- Gene and Alissa Hoffman of Du Quoin
Daughter and Son-in-law- Donna and David Erb of Du Quoin
Daughter-in-law- LeAnn Hoffman of Du Quoin
Two grandchildren (whom she raised as her own)- Allie and Ashley Wilson
Nine additional grandchildren
Ten Great Grandchildren with one on the way
She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, son- David Joseph Hoffman, Sr., grandmother who raised her- Cecillia Szczeblewski, sister- Barbara Fisher and sister-in-law- Frances Golembieski.
Memorial services to celebrate Beverly’s life will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, November 27, 2020 at Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home (11 South Hickory Street) in Du Quoin with Father Joseph Oganda officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the funeral home.
For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home; 11 S. Hickory Street; Du Quoin, IL 62832.
Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, social distancing, mask usage and limited occupancy will be enforced.
