Babygirl Pickens

Babygirl Pickens, a beloved family member of Christy and Jeff Pickens, passed away on January 19, 2024, at the age of 18 years. 

Babygirl was born and joined the family in November of 2005 at the young age of just two weeks old. Jeff pulled her from a pile of garbage after she had simply been thrown away.  One man's trash really is another man's treasure, as she became just that!

Babygirl enjoyed car rides, walks in the woods, and visiting family. More than anything, she enjoyed her squeaky ball. She was a champion fetcher and would play for hours, catching it and "killing" it before returning it to be thrown again. She enjoyed going to the store and picking out which ball she wanted, proudly carrying it to the register to be paid for. Babygirl did not let going blind stop her from enjoying life. She did not let it slow her ball game down either. She developed a zig-zag search pattern, running back and forth until she found it. Babygirl was a cuddle bug. When she wasn't busy playing ball or enjoying a steak, she could be found cuddling with her mommy.

In her last year, she suffered from several health issues. Even as her body failed her, her loving spirit endured. Babygirl is deeply missed by her parents- Christy and Jeff Pickens, her siblings- Katie and Sabrina Pickens, fur siblings- Seven and Harley, and her special friend Mike Beaven.
